Can we assess Machiavellianism, Psychopathy, Narcissism, and Sadism in just 5 minutes?
We introduce the Interpersonal Antagonism Scale (IAS), a brief, reliable, and valid instrument for measuring the Dark Tetrad traits in Spanish-speaking populations. Based on the SD3 and ASP, the IAS assesses these traits using just 20 items.
🔍 Key Highlights
- 20-item scale: 5 items per trait (Narcissism, Machiavellianism, Psychopathy, Sadism).
- Strong factor structure (CFA) and acceptable reliability (α and ω ≥ .76 in most subscales).
- Gender invariance confirmed.
- High convergent and discriminant validity: strong correlations with SD4, HEXACO, and SDQ.
- Good test–retest stability confirmed.
👥 Who might find this useful?
Researchers, forensic professionals, educators, and students seeking a brief yet robust tool to study dark personality traits and their links to antisocial behavior.
